Just as so many other teams have already, the Los Angeles Rams have followed suit in limiting capacity at SoFi Stadium due to the coronavirus pandemic. The team announced on Tuesday that SoFi Stadium will be “at limited or no capacity in 2020” and that “season tickets will not be possible for the 2020 season.”
Instead, season tickets will be deferred to next year, but SSL holders will have priority for single-game tickets this season if fans are allowed in SoFi Stadium at some point. This news was shared with season ticket holders via email, informing them that all season ticket payment plans are being halted.
Additionally, the Rams shared some info regarding the preseason, saying they expect those games to be canceled altogether.
The team anticipates that the NFL will cancel preseason games, which means the first NFL game at SoFi Stadium would be its Week 1 Sunday Night Football opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 13. In hopes of having fans at the opener, the Rams ask that fans please join them in wearing a mask to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
If fans are allowed in the stadium this season, there will be strict guidelines. Fans will be required to wear masks, social distancing will be enforced, seating blocks will be set up to ensure groups are at least 6 feet apart and that the first seven rows of the stadium will be blocked off to protect players and coaches.
