According to NFL reporter Field Yates, the Pittsburgh Steelers finally have a member of their 2020 NFL draft class under contract. Yates is reporting that edge rusher Alex Highsmith has agreed to terms on his rookie contract.

This doesn’t mean Highsmith has signed yet but at this point it is simply a formality until the team officially announces the signing.

Highsmith was the Steelers third-round draft pick in 2020. He was a highly-effective edge rusher at Charlotte and should provide the Steelers excellent depth behind Bud Dupree and T.J. Watt.

Highsmith if the first of the Steelers 2020 NFL draft class to agree to terms. With training camp upon us, look for a multitude of action with the rest of the Pittsburgh rookies.
