When it comes to recruiting defensive backs, no one does it better than the LSU Tigers.
In the last two years, LSU has signed either the No. 1 or No. 2 cornerback in the nation, per 247Sports.
Now, the Tigers could be closing in on another elite cornerback prospect for 2021.
Jason Marshall, a five-star cornerback from Miami Palmetto High in Miami, Fla., recently announced his top five schools and the defending national champions are among that group.

Alabama, Florida, Miami and Oregon rounded out Marshall’s top group.
Marshall is ranked as the No. 30 overall player in the 2021 class, per the 247Sports composite, and the No. 3 cornerback.
Florida and Alabama appear to be Marshall’s top options, as he recently discussed with 247Sports, per Billy Embody.
“I think I am going to expand it,” Marshall said of his top choices. “Alabama and Florida are the main schools. I don’t really talk to Clemson but Miami, Oregon, and LSU have been in contact a lot lately.”
While LSU may not be the projected leader at this point, you never count out head coach Ed Orgeron and cornerbacks coach Corey Raymond for elite defensive backs.
