The Seattle Seahawks should consider replacing Tyler Lockett with Ugo Amadi as the team’s return specialist for the 2020 season.
Lockett has been the Seahawks No. 1 wide receiver since 2018 and has become one of the team’s most valuable assets. In the past two years, he has racked up 139 receptions for 2,022 receiving yards and 18 receiving touchdowns. Lockett only looks to become more deadly even alongside fellow wide receiver DK Metcalf, who is about to enter his second season following a sensational rookie year.
Leaving Lockett on the field to return punts only further risks injury, and Seattle cannot afford to lose one of its best playmakers in 2020.
Lockett could most likely be replaced by defensive back Ugo Amadi, who has seen action returning punts. However, the Seahawks could certainly find someone else on the roster to replace him as a return specialist if Amdai doesn’t end up fitting the bill.
Seahawks are scheduled to report to training camp on July 28.
