With the upcoming NFL season expected to be very different than any other, the Chargers organization told their season-ticket holders that they opt out of the 2020 season without penalty and other plans related to the coronavirus and its impact on the league.
The team announced “Charge Forward,” which is a rollover program. Los Angeles will credit 2020 season ticket members for the 2021 season or give a refund, if requested.
“Season Ticket Members will have priority to select from any available inventory,” the team wrote. “Our goal will be to accommodate as many people as possible within the health and safety guidelines outlined by SoFi Stadium, the CDC, and local health and government officials. Currently there have been no final decisions made affecting the seating map for a reduced capacity scenario, and we will be in communication with our Members as those decisions have been made.”
Local government officials have yet to determine how many or even if fans will be allowed to attend Chargers’ games this season.
The Chargers and Rams are slated to start playing at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA, the new home to both teams.
