One of the early storylines emerging from the Los Angeles Lakers training camp at the Walt Disney World has been that LeBron James is living at the Disney campus with his teammates without any of the extra personnel that he normally travels with, in any other normal situation. Part of that, of course, is that the NBA has a heightened level of security and safety at the Disney World Campus because of the pandemic. But obviously, LeBron could just as easily ask for his normal personnel and would likely get his wish, which is something head coach Frank Vogel commended him for on Thursday for ‘just being one of the guys.’
Frank Vogel on LeBron off the court: “He’s a lot of fun. I commend him, for someone of his stature, to just be one of the guys.” He cited how LeBron always spends time with his teammates, when some players could tend to go be off on their own.

The way LeBron is moving in the bubble, with his teammates and other players, has even caught some of their opponents by surprise. Boston Celtics guard Kemba Walker told Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks on Thursday that it is definitely out of the ordinary to see someone like LeBron walking around by himself or without his normally robust security detail, almost like the players are all at a summer basketball camp.
Kemba and I discussed a unique aspect of the bubble – this is a controlled environment for him and other players. Not just from Covid, but in terms of WHO is there. They can walk around freely! Something that players like Bron haven't been able to do in an incredibly long time. https://t.co/M6ghCv1yKq

The NBA bubble has been safe so far and for players, including LeBron himself, it’s a little bit of an escape from their traditional NBA in some unexpected ways.
