OU football seeks to move Missouri State opener to Aug. 29
While all of the news being reported as of late has to do with cancelling or moving the season back, the Oklahoma Sooners are wanting to move the season up. According to Barry Tramel of The Oklahoman/USA TODAY Sports, the Sooners are looking to move their opener up to late August.
OU athletic director Joe Castiglione’s rationale in this pandemic-stricken year is that moving the opener would give OU an off week after each of its first two games, which could be valuable with the testing of players for the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
With constant testing and the subsequent contact tracing for those exposed, teams face a season with frequent quarantines and isolation of players who either have the virus or have been exposed to it. – The Oklahoman
Oklahoma State loses commitment from 2022 four-star offensive tackle
The Oklahoma State Cowboys lost a four-star pledge from their 2022 class. Kelvin Banks Jr announced via his Twitter that he would be decommiting. Banks is ranked the 13th offensive tackle in the country and 21st ranked prospect from the state of Texas. He currently holds 13 total offers. Banks first committed to Oklahoma State back in September. He does hold an offer from the University of Texas.
I will be decommiting from Oklahoma State University. I just want to make sure that I am making the right decision for me and my family for the future. @Perroni247
