Carson Palmer impresses at Lake Tahoe charity golf event

Former USC Trojans quarterback Carson Palmer is in seventh place in a celebrity golf tournament to help support COVID-19 relief efforts.

Former USC Trojans quarterback Carson Palmer, who retired in 2017 after a 14-year career in the NFL, has taken his talents to the golf course, where he is currently sitting in seventh place in the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament, held at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course near Lake Tahoe.

The tournament is worth $600,000, but all the prize money is being donated to organizations which support COVID-19 relief efforts, the Equal Justice Initiative and Lake Tahoe non-profit organizations.

Palmer had a successful second day on the links, and is tied with former MLB pitcher Mark Mulder in seventh place, well ahead of his former teammates with the Arizona Cardinals, Patrick Peterson and Larry Fitzgerald, who are in 23rd and 27th place, respectively.

The final round is occurring on Sunday, July 12, and can been seen on NBC starting at noon PT. The event is being held without spectators in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
