Brooks Koepka made a last-minute commitment to the Memorial on Friday night, setting the stage for an epic week at Jack’s Place.
The field is now loaded with 17 of the top 20 golfers in the Official World Golf Ranking entered to play.
The top nine ranked players are in the tournament, now that No. 6 Koepka has entered the fray. He joins Rory McIlroy (1), Jon Rahm (2), Dustin Johnson (3), Webb Simpson (4), Justin Thomas (5), Bryson DeChambeau (7), Patrick Cantlay (8) and Patrick Reed (9). The only top-ten player not committed is No. 10 Adam Scott.
Oh, yea, and Tiger Woods, currently 14th in the ranking, is playing next week. He will make his first appearance on the PGA Tour since February when he tees it up at the Memorial.
Koepka will play the event for the first time since 2017.
Let’s make it happen
With that, the world can now officially root for the Memorial Tournament organizers to give us the grouping we all want: Tiger, Brooks and Bryson.
Tiger of course is Tiger and the Brooks v. Bryson build up would be potentially great theater.
Players have until 30 minutes after play ends on Friday to commit to the following week's PGA TOUR event(s).
