SAN FRANCISCO — The Pac-12 will play only conference games during the 2020 football season.
The Pac-12 CEO Group announced Friday that the fall season for several sports, including football, men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball, would schedule conference-only games, and that it is delaying the start of mandatory athletic activities.
The Big Ten will also play conference-only games during the 2020 football season.
The moves from Power Five conferences come after the Ivy League announced that it will not field athletic competitions during the 2020 fall semester. A decision on fielding winter and spring sports, and whether fall sports competition would be feasible in the spring, will be determined at a later date for the Ivy League.
