ABU DHABI – [autotag]Jorge Masvidal[/autotag] took his first UFC title fight on short notice as a COVID-19 replacement, but any concerns about him making weight were put to rest Friday.
Jorge Masvidal (35-13 MMA, 12-6 UFC) hit 170 pounds on the button when he weighed in for his welterweight title bout against champion [autotag]Kamaru Usman[/autotag] (16-1 MMA, 11-0 UFC). Usman was 170 pounds, as well.
If Masvidal is able to upset Usman, who is more than a 2-1 favorite, he will become a UFC champion in his 49th career fight, eclipsing the record held by Dave Menne, who won a UFC belt in his 40th career bout.
