Early returns suggest the Cincinnati Bengals could be quite an offensive powerhouse in Madden NFL 21.
That’s strictly going on Joe Burrow’s player ratings, yes.
Burrow’s rating was finally revealed and it’s really good in the sense that some of his best marks are in areas that help players excel while using the quarterback.
Besides a solid overall rating, grades of 86 in throw power and accuracy (for a rookie!) are high marks that assure consistent, reliable play from the virtual Burrow. Throw in mid to high 80s on all levels of accuracy, including deep, as well as an 86 rating for throwing on the run.
And that 86 mark in speed not only seems ridiculous, it’s going to give him the constant ability to escape messy situations and even take off for lengthy runs.
This isn’t only about Burrow either. From past editions of Madden we know the drill — A.J. Green will be one of the top-graded wideouts and will make big plays. Same goes for Joe Mixon out of the backfield and Tyler Boyd in the slot. And John Ross’ potential game-best speed is a wicked weapon in its own right if used properly.
This is all in fun and just something to think about, of course. Madden potency won’t mean it translates to the real thing. But it’ll still be fun for Bengals fans to have one of the most dramatically changed offenses in this year’s game — and potentially one of the most dangerous.
