Michael Beasley officially signs with Nets

The Nets have announced Michael Beasley has been added to Brooklyn’s roster.

Michael Beasley is officially a member of the Brooklyn Nets.

The franchise announced the forward signed with the team on Thursday after reports surfaced on Wednesday indicating Beasley was closing in on a deal with Brooklyn.

With Taurean Prince out and Jarrett Allen currently the only active big man on the roster for the Disney bubble, the 6-foot-9 forward helps Brooklyn address their size issue. More importantly, with the Nets down seven players (including Prince), Beasley gives the roster depth and a veteran presence.

Beasley has not played in an NBA game since he was with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018-19. According to Bobby Marks of ESPN, Beasley will have to sit out his first five games with the Nets for “violating the Anti-Drug policy last April.”

Jamal Crawford has reportedly agreed to a deal with Brooklyn, as well. However, the team has not made the signing official, as of Beasley’s signing.
