Many years from now, scholars of the game will look back on the 2019-20 season as the campaign Boston Celtics All-Star power forward Jayson Tatum unlocked elite-level offense, and no small part of it came from his growth as a threat from beyond the arc.
Having added a devastating step-back trey to his arsenal while eliminating some of the less efficient offense from his repertoire, the St. Louis native became — as longtime Boston foe LeBron James put it — an absolute problem to defend.
So far, in the 2019-20 campaign, Tatum shot 420 3-point attempts, connecting on 167 of them, good for a 39.9 % success rate from deep.
With his high release point and growing willingness to attack from 3-point range, this weapon is becoming a near-unstoppable part of the Duke product’s arsenal.
Watch the video embedded above to see all of the former Blue Devil’s best threes on the season to date. And in just a few more weeks, we’ll be able to see some new ones, as well.
