If LeBron James is going to unwind with a little bit of fine wine or 1942, he won’t be able to do it while doing basically anything else, at least according to the details reported of a memo the NBA sent outlining rules for recreational activities while teams are at the Disney World Campus in Orlando, Florida.
The Athletic’s Fred Katz wrote a story published on Thursday, detailing that the various amenities available to players at their respective hotels, including fishing excursions, golf courses, barbers, and manicurists have one common rule: no alcoholic beverages allowed. Players will also have access to a bowling alley, but the memo does not detail any beverage rules for bowling, according to Katz.
Obviously, this probably won’t fly that well with LeBron, a known wine connoisseur. Thanks to Miami Heat big man Meyers Leonard, we know that alcohol is served in the hotel, seeing as he ordered a few Coors Lights with his room service last night. But that appears to be the extent of the activities the players can do with their favorite libations.
The memo also details that groups of 40 people will be allowed after-hours access to the Disney World amusement parks.
I guess we better get prepared for plenty of videos of LeBron enjoying wine in his room since drinking appears to be banned mostly everywhere else on the Disney World campus.
