Lucas Lueders is a rising coach in college football as he enters his first season as offensive coordinator at Division II Central Missouri.
Lueders spent the previous nine seasons as offensive coordinator at NAIA Morningside. Morningside won the 2018 and 2019 NAIA national championships.
Under Lueders’ guidance, Morningside averaged 52.5 points per game, 563.4 yards per contest and scored 54 touchdowns in 2019.
His offense showcases everything from 00 to 13 personnel.
“The gist of the offense is to be uptempo, multiple personnel, multiple formation, multiple movement,” Lueders said on the show “Tennessee Two-A-Days.” “Basically the way I look at it, is everybody in your team can play a role — just utilizing all of your personnel and finding ways to give guys purpose.”
Lueders played defense and is a 2008 graduate of Sterling. He discussed playing on defense and now coaching offense.
“It has allowed me to figure out schemes and how they fit — and create advantages and pressure on the defensive side,” Lueders said.
