The Green Bay Packers took a step toward educating their fans on what the 2020 season could be like at Lambeau Field.
Season ticket holders were notified Friday by team President/CEO Mark Murphy about changes because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The team has not closed hope on fans attending games. However, if they are allowed the seating capacity will be significantly reduced.
“New safety measures will allow for appropriate social distancing, which will require the stadium’s seating capacity to be significantly reduced,” Murphy wrote in the letter.
Face coverings also will be required, and other necessary precautions will be in place. As a result, the special experience to which fans are accustomed at Lambeau Field will look and feel very different.
… The Packers are planning to make necessary adjustments in order to conduct games and other events in as safe a manner as possible in the best interest of fans, players and team and league personnel. All preparations are being made with the latest advice of medical and public health officials and are subject to change.
There will be updates for fans who decide to “opt in” on the 2020 season. However, if you chose to “opt out,” fans will decide to ask for refunds or have the money credited to the 2021 season. Their status as season ticket holders and existing seats and ticket package will remain in place for next season.
