Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s death has been met by tributes from the MMA community, as a host of prominent figures from the sport posted messages of condolence to social media following the news.
Nurmagomedov died after a battle with complications resulting from COVID-19. He was 57 years old. The father of UFC lightweight champion [autotag]Khabib Nurgmagomedov[/autotag], Abdulmanap was his son’s head coach. He was a staple of Khabib’s corner for much of his career and coached numerous other MMA notables as well.
From MMA organizations to fighters to his fellow coaches, Abdulmanap impacted the lives of many in the MMA bubble. On Friday, his impact was on full display, as the tributes poured in online.

In my last fight in Russia the crowd started attacking the cage after I won,it was turning into a scary situation,my safety seemed in genuine danger.
Abdulmanap came into the cage & settled things very quickly.
