Los Angeles Lakers star forward and leading scorer Anthony Davis believes that he has fully taken advantage of the long lay-off that he was afforded due to the NBA’s shutdown over the coronavirus.
Davis joined reporters for a Zoom press conference on Thursday morning and he told them that he believes he’s now 100 percent healthy for the coming season, given the time to heal from a variety of injuries that he was dealing with prior to the league’s shutdown in March.
From SB Nation:
“I think our chances are the same,” Davis said, before correcting himself. “Actually I think our chances are higher because we’re all rested and ready to go.”
Of course, the changes for the Lakers wouldn’t be quite the same if they aren’t able to have Dwight Howard. While the Lakers will likely have to play more Davis at center in the later rounds of the postseason, having Howard, as well as JaVale McGee, allow Davis to be fresher down the stretch of the season.
