Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant detailed his two goals heading into the season restart this month at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida.
Win and prove the doubters wrong.
When the Grizzlies begin the season restart July 31, they will be 3.5 games ahead of the teams behind them in the Western Conference. With the potential for a play-in tournament looming, the Grizzlies will be looking to take care of business and qualify outright for the playoffs.
Morant told reporters Thursday on a conference call that he simply just wants to win and prove people wrong. Outside of that, he didn’t know what else to do but he also mentioned something fans should appreciate: That he is fully healthy heading into the restart.
I feel like I’m in more shape. My knee is feeling way better; no pain. I feel like I’m actually leaving the floor easier and jumping higher. I’ve just been taking this time to focus on my body and make sure everything is good so when it’s time to go out and play, I’ll be fine.

Morant said Tuesday that he has packed on about 12 pounds of muscle over the recent suspension from the regular season. He has been seen in the gym working out and was even with NBA Draft prospect R.J. Hampton at one point.
The Grizzlies emerged as an entertaining team to watch this season led by Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. and others so the young group will have a bit more work to do in order to qualify for the playoffs.
