While the recruiting and high school camp world remains at a near standstill, one of the top camps in the country is pushing on.
The Elite 11 Finals is one of the most prestigious camps to perform at for a high school quarterback. The event and its regional events have hosted many of the recent Heisman Trophy winners and 15 of the top-19 in the NFL in 2019 attended.
Top Oklahoma target, five-star and No. 1 quarterback in the country Caleb Williams just went through the first day at the Elite 11 Finals. Among the 20 quarterbacks there, Williams came out on top after day one.
“There’s nothing this kid can’t do,” said Elite 11 head coach Trent Dilfer to 247Sports. “I’ve been doing this a long time, he has very few limitations if any. He’s uber-competitive. Very focused when he walked in. He’s really clean, he’s consistent, clean usually means consistent.
“Every throw was good to great. I think he takes it that serious. I’m interpreting what his mind is telling him and it’s as if every throw is the most important throw of the day.”
Five of the top seven rated quarterbacks in the country are at the event. This includes former Oklahoma quarterback commit Brock Vandagriff.
Day two of the Elite 11 Finals will take place on Tuesday. No streaming capability is available from the event.
