For run-of-the-mill tall people, finding a bed on the road that your feet don’t dangle off of can be a challenge; for the taller players on the Boston Celtics, it can be nearly impossible.
So news of the NBA and Disney going out of their way to provide NBA player-sized mattresses for each team participating in the 22-team Disney-hosted reboot to the pandemic-interrupted 2019-20 season is likely being met with happiness.
Given the team will be spending a good chunk of the summer and fall holed up in Disney’s NBA Campus, any additional creature comforts for their home-away-from-home should be well-received.

Disney-obsessed “Mickey Blog” reports that Disney has already begun bringing in the custom beds are already being brought into the Grand Floridian resort, one of several such properties NBA players will be staying in for the duration of their stay at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
“According to our sources, the mattresses are bigger than King and California King and measure 96 inches. They needed to be ordered specially for the players,” relates Mickey Blog’s Melissa Roden.
With 10 of the Celtics’ 17-man roster 6-foot-6 or taller, regular beds aren’t going to cut it for a long haul stay; for the sake of their performance, let’s hope they are as comfortable as they are long.
