While the coronavirus may be impacting everyone’s July 4 plans, Oklahoma is planning on putting on a show itself.
Top quarterback target Caleb Williams is set announce his commitment on Saturday. Current 2021 commitments hinted at another on Twitter this past week. Now, another Sooners target in the 2021 recruiting class has announced he will also be making his commitment on America’s Independence Day.
Three-star athlete Keon Coleman made it official on Twitter late Friday afternoon.
I’m committing July 4th🤷🏾♂️🤫

The Louisiana native announced a final three on Monday. Coleman will be picking between Oklahoma, Kansas and South Carolina come this Saturday. He will be a multi-sport college athlete, playing basketball and football.
The Sooners just landed three-star defensive end Nathan Rawlins-Kibonge, who is also slated to play basketball for Lon Kruger once he arrives at Oklahoma in 2021. Rawlins-Kibonge is listed at 6-foot-7, with Coleman at 6-foot-4.
Coleman’s position in college will be up for debate until he participates in his first practice, but he has tweeted that Oklahoma plans on using him on offense. The big-bodied wide receiver could fill a role at the Y-receiver position that Mark Andrews and Grant Calcaterra played and lauded 2020 signee Jalin Conyers will play.
The Sooners have nine commitments in the 2021 recruiting class, but that is expected to be a much higher number by July’s end and move that recruiting class ranking number way up.
