“It’s cool to be a Christian and be an athlete. Go ahead and be the best athlete you can possibly be, and see if you can be a better Christian."@_BigBen7 spoke at a men's ministry event about his baptism, God's forgiveness and his walk with the Lord 👏https://t.co/55dJUBfGJh

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger spoke at the ManUp Pittsburgh conference over the weekend and it was remarkable how he opened up about how he’s changed since he entered the league. Roethlisberger gives a ton of credit to re-finding his way with the church as to how he found his way to the man he is.
And some of the revelations he revealed were stunning.
“I’ve fallen as short as anybody. I’ve been addicted to alcohol, I’ve been addicted to pornography, which makes me, then, not the best husband, not the best father, not the best Christian I can be,” Roethlisberger said. “But you have to dedicate yourself and understand that you can get out of it because of the grace of God, and Him saying, ‘You’re good enough for Me the way you are. You don’t have to be perfect.’
It isn’t often you see a professional athlete put themselves in such a vulnerable place publicly but this is what makes Roethlisberger a leader for the Steelers.
