NASCAR drivers join together to push Bubba Wallace’s car to front of Geico 500 field

What a moment.

Many members of the NASCAR community already showed their support for Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr. on social media after a noose was found in his garage on Sunday. NASCAR painted #IStandwith Bubba on the infield at Talldega Superspeedway as well.

On Monday, before the start of the GEICO 500 that was postponed by weather, drivers, crew members and others showed just how united they were in standing with Wallace in the face of the incident by walking his car to the front of the grid, and that including a long line of teams that followed.

Here are some videos and photos of the powerful moment:

Wallace snapped an incredible photo:

He got a huge hug from team owner Richard Petty and from fellow competitors:

As my colleague Michelle Martinelli wrote, there’s so much more work NASCAR has to do. But this was a great moment.
