The Philadelphia 76ers have long been a rival of the Boston Celtics, and while things waned for a while, by the time All-Star forward Jayson Tatum was drafted by the Celtics, the rivalry was back on.
The Celtics owned the series between the two Atlantic Division rivals early in the Duke product’s career, going three wins and one loss against the 76ers in his rookie season, but then Philly turned the tables for this season and last with one win of four to Boston’s credit.
But while the Sixers grew stronger, so did Tatum’s game, with the Missourian going for 15 points and 8 rebounds for his best game against Philadelphia as a rookie, 23 points and 10 boards his second season, and a 25-point game this season.
