RIP Sir Ian Holm đ˘
One of our very greatest actors. Never has an actor said so much by doing so little….

Where to even begin with the great Ian Holm? God. He's an absolute powerhouse in everything from ALIEN to TIME BANDITS, from THE FIFTH ELEMENT to GREYSTOKE and FROM HELL… He gave us so much in his 88 years. pic.twitter.com/svsLVs5v8W

Farewell to Ian Holm, one of the greats. His list of credits is mighty – Alien, Chariots Of Fire, Time Bandits, Naked Lunch – but I will always love him most for his multi-faceted, mesmerising Bilbo. Soulful, sweet, mischievous and even, in one scene, absolutely terrifying. pic.twitter.com/7qpRHtWTC0

RIP Ian Holm, a genius actor who brought considerable presence to parts funny, heartbreaking & terrifying. Thanks for Bilbo, Napoleon (twice), Sweet Hereafter, Big Night, Brazil and, of course the iconic Ash. "I can't lie to you about your chances, but… you have my sympathies." pic.twitter.com/tO9tcydVUK

So sad to hear #ianholm has passed. âDeath is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass…and then you see it…white shores…â pic.twitter.com/Z5UD1tqEeI

I always loved Ian Holmâs quietly quirky and selflessly chameleon-like way of not only disappearing into any role, but also fully embracing the often fantastical worlds of those characters, no matter their place in time and space. A wonderful actor. R.I.P. https://t.co/0fOUvaLMKH pic.twitter.com/YeY8VdJnVs

But I at last with weary feet
Will turn towards the lighted inn,
My evening-rest and sleep to meet.â
I drew this a few days ago, it was meant to be part of a larger picture… Farewell, Sir Ian Holm, dear Bilbo. đ˘ pic.twitter.com/f9aldOJMGr— Norloth (@norloth) June 19, 2020
