Arizona Cardinals fans have been waiting for a while to hear about when quarterback Kyler Murray is going to get together with his receivers to work out together and throw them the ball. After all, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, no one in the NFL has been able to practice as a team like they normally would this offseason.
On multiple occasions, we have heard that they would get together “soon” or “real soon” but now it is going to happen.
Running back Kenyan Drake revealed on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football that it is happening this week. They will meet up with Kyler in Texas.
“Kyler is inviting all the offensive skill players out to Dallas this week,” Drake said. “It’ll be the first time we come together as a unit. I think it’ll be good for all of us to come together. Kyler’s gracious enough to invite everybody out there.”
The work they get done in Dallas will help with timing and chemistry on the field, even though it will be limited. All of their offseason work as a team has been in virtual meetings. Now they will get to, without coaches, rep some of the things they have covered. It won’t be the same as OTAs or minicamp, but it will give them time to get into a rhythm.
The Cardinals players are off until training camp opens, which will likely be the end of July. Under normal circumstances, the Cardinals would be scheduled to report for camp on July 28.
