These are strange times to be a Miami Dolphins fan. It has been quite some time since the team has been perceived to have a superstar at the quarterback position and seemingly just as long since the mainstream media has held a positive consensus regarding the team. Heck, just nine months ago there were calls for the NFL to launch an investigation into the team regarding their perceived “tank job” after a slow start bogged down the Dolphins early in 2019.
Look at where we are less than one year later. Never mind investigations, the Dolphins have quickly become a popular target of compliments from the media amid their ambitious rebuild and their bold smokescreen campaign to keep other NFL teams off the scent of their preferred quarterback of choice in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Dolphins, of course, landed Tua Tagovailoa — but best of all, they didn’t even have to trade up from the No. 5 overall pick to secure him.
Tagovailoa’s star power is unlike anything the Dolphins have had in years, as evidenced by a recent segment on ESPN airwaves.
ESPN’s ‘Get Up!’ programming aired a segment in which former New England Patriots defender Rob Ninkovich was asked which young quarterback not named Patrick Mahomes he would most like to start his team with. His answer speaks for itself:
Hearing someone say this about a Miami Dolphins quarterback never gets old. I am so excited for the future of the Fins #MiamiDolphins #FinsUp pic.twitter.com/IRMUJwIEHw

Imagine that — out of all the young quarterbacks not named Mahomes, this former New England Patriot would choose a Miami Dolphins signal-caller over the rest of them. And his bold proclamation is enough to get any Dolphins fan to grin ear to ear, too.
“I think, in three years — give me three years — (Tua) will be the best quarterback in the AFC.”
We’d settle for the best quarterback in the AFC East to start, but here’s to Tua Tagovailoa living up to his lofty potential and expectations — because the sky is the limit.
