Recent NFL odds unveils over the last month or so have painted the Cincinnati Bengals as massive underdogs.

And that trend is only continuing.

Taking a look at updated odds, the AFC North numbers stand out in a big way. Over at BetMGM, the Bengals are +2500 to win the division in 2020, by far the worst number. The Cleveland Browns are +500 in third place with the Pittsburgh Steelers second at +320. Understandably, the Baltimore Ravens are the outright favorites at -200.

This update comes on the heels of the bigger game-by-game odds suggesting the Bengals are only favorites in one contest next season. The win-total prop isn’t exactly kind either. Maybe one of the funniest sets of odds concerning the Bengals lately is Akeem Davis-Gaither’s odds at Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Not that any of this should come as a surprise. While Pittsburgh and Cleveland were down last year, no team in the division had as much turnover as the Bengals as Zac Taylor and Co. got aggressive in re-imaging the roster to their liking.

But that doesn’t mean these odds are correct. The Bengals have been a savvy underdog play in the past and it’s understandable if would-be bettors view them that way again.
