Lamar Jackson nearly misses hitting Jet Ski in beach football game

The reigning MVP Lamar Jackson had Baltimore Ravens fans holding their breath after nearly hitting a Jet Ski during a beach football game.

In a scene that freaked out hordes of fans, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson took to the air to avoid a parked Jet Ski during a game of beach football.

While Jackson was just having some fun during his off time, you can’t help but be a little scared seeing this video. On the play, Jackson was pressured with open sand in front of him, allowing him to run. But there are no sidelines on the beach and as Jackson neared the water to avoid being taken down, he had to leap to avoid running into the Jet Ski.

Though Jackson avoided major injury on the play, it’s pretty easy to envision him not being able to avoid the watercraft and getting needlessly hurt. The Ravens are right in the middle of their Super Bowl window thanks to having Jackson under center. An injury at any time would be devastating but to get one in the offseason during a pick-up football game on the beach would be especially egregious.

On the flip side, it’s nice to see Jackson still showcase his speed and agility to pick up a ton of yards on a scramble and avoid a big hit by a vehicle. Anyone who has tried to run on sand knows how difficult running at full speed can be.

Hopefully, Jackson can be a little more cautious in the future. I’m sure coach John Harbaugh and general manager Eric DeCosta would sleep a lot better if he was.
