The Tennessee Titans made six selections in the 2020 NFL Draft, but so far only two of those players have signed their rookie deals.
The team announced both defensive lineman Larrell Murchison (fifth round) and defensive back Chris Jackson (seventh round) had agreed to terms on their rookie deals last month.
However, offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson (first round), cornerback Kristian Fulton (second round), running back Darrynton Evans (third round) and quarterback Cole McDonald (seventh round) have yet to sign.
This is nothing new for the Titans. Tennessee went into minicamp last June not having signed all of their 2019 picks, however there was only one holdover, which was wide receiver A.J. Brown.
There shouldn’t be much concern here, though; the deals will certainly get done soon. At this point it’s really just about taking care of the fine print, so to speak.
Per Spotrac, here’s a look at an estimate of what the cap hits for Wilson, Fulton, Evans and McDonald will look like in 2020, as well as what Murchison and Jackson will be making.
OT Isaiah Wilson: $2.1 million (estimate)
CB Kristian Fulton: $969,126 (estimate)
RB Darrynton Evans: $829,416 (estimate)
DL Larrell Murchison: $679,435
QB Cole McDonald: $635,420
DB Chris Jackson: $629,570 (estimate)
Of the Titans’ six 2020 picks, only Fulton and Evans figure to play at least close to a significant role, while Murchison could find his way into a rotational spot.
Wilson is expected to compete with Dennis Kelly for the starting right tackle spot, but the veteran has the edge there. McDonald will be in competition with Logan Woodside for the backup quarterback job, and Jackson is just trying to make the roster as a defensive reserve and special teamer.
