Joe Mixon or Nick Chubb? Which RB runs the AFC North in 2020?

Will Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon or Cleveland Browns back Nick Chubb run the AFC North in 2020?

The AFC North is a stacked division for running backs largely thanks to the state of Ohio.

There, Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon and Cleveland Browns back Nick Chubb stand as two of the NFL’s brightest young stars at the position.

Now it’s worth asking: Who drums up more yardage in 2020?

A year ago, Mixon had a slow start for a two-win team yet turned it on over the second half of the season, rushing for 1,137 yards and five scores on a 4.1 average with another 35 catches for 287 yards and three touchdowns as a receiver.

Chubb, also playing in 16 games, rushed for 1,494 yards and eight scores on a 5.0 average with 36 catches for 278 yards.

Here’s what one outlet thinks for next season:

Looking ahead, both backs should have better offensive lines in front of them and passing offenses threatening defenses. Both are, in a word, elite as it is. Both are also the centerpiece of offenses still trying to bring along promising young passers.

Who actually wins the AFC North rushing title outright might just come down to sheer availability and opportunity. Either way, it’s a good time to be fan of elite running backs in the state of Ohio.
