[autotag]Mike Grundy[/autotag] vs. [autotag]Movsar Evloev[/autotag] is the latest addition to the UFC’s upcoming schedule.
The featherweight fight is slated for July 25 at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi – as part of the UFC’s four “Fight Island” events being held over 15 days. The event doesn’t currently have a name designation.
Two people with knowledge of the situation informed MMA Junkie of the booking Wednesday but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Grundy (12-1 MMA, 1-0) and Evloev (12-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) originally were booked to fight in August 2019. However, Grundy was injured and Evloev was paired with Zhenhong Lu, who eventually dropped out due to injury as well.
Both Grundy and Evloev are undefeated in the UFC. Grundy won his UFC debut in March 2019 when he knocked out Nad Narimani in a back-and-forth fight at UFC on ESPN+ 5.
Evloev, a former M-1 Global champion, has won both his UFC appearances by unanimous decision. After he beat Seung Woo Choi in his promotional debut, Evloev beat Enrique Barzola in October at UFC on ESPN+ 20.
With the addition, the July 25 lineup includes:
- Darren Till vs. Robert Whittaker
- Alexander Gustafsson vs. Fabricio Werdum
- Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Mauricio Rua
- Bethe Correia vs. Pannie Kianzad
- Movsar Evloev vs. Mike Grundy
