The late spring/early summer is usually when Michigan starts really building out its class in most years. 2021’s recruiting cycle has been a little bit different, considering that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the NCAA has instituted a dead period, prohibiting in-person visits until July 31.
That means the Wolverines can’t have its big summer visit day in late June that it normally has. Last year, that day accounted for 10 commitments in the subsequent week-plus.
However, the maize and blue have been heavily in pursuit for one target who will be deciding around that timeframe in Clarkston (MI) four-star offensive tackle Garrett Dellinger.
Dellinger has already announced a top four of Michigan, LSU, Ohio State and Penn State. And on Monday, he gave a preview of his future commitment in an expertly produced video. But, instead of saying where he’s going, the video ends with ‘June 24,’ the date in which Dellinger intends to make his school choice known.

Teammates with fellow top target Rocco Spindler, Dellinger is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 76 player in the country, regardless of position. He’s also the No. 12 offensive tackle and the 5th-best player in the state of Michigan.
Currently, he has nine predictions made in the 247Sports Crystal Ball, with 100% of them indicating that LSU will be his future choice.
