Video: Watch Cody Garbrandt’s vicious one-punch knockout of Raphael Assuncao at the buzzer

Oh my goodness.

[autotag]Cody Garbrandt[/autotag] is back in a big way.

The former UFC bantamweight champion had a vintage performance Saturday in the co-main event of UFC 250, capped off by a “Knockout of the Year” contender.

Garbrandt (12-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) knocked out long-time contender Raphael Assuncao with one second remaining in the second round to snap a three-fight skid that had many questioning Garbrandt’s future in the UFC.

The finish shocked the MMA community, as it’s one of the most brutal knockouts this year. It also marked Garbrandt’s firth finish in his UFC career.

Although the knockout impressed many, it didn’t seem to do it for bantamweight prospect Sean O’Malley, who also scored an impressive one-punch knockout of his own to kick off the UFC 250 main card.

Decent.
