UFC returned to Las Vegas on Saturday night and staged its first card since the death of George Floyd in policy custody last month, and it didn’t take long for a fighter to make a statement during the event at the UFC Apex.
Before his early prelim fight against Alonzo Menifield, light heavyweight Devin Clark kneeled in the octagon and raised his right fist to the air while ring announcer Bruce Buffer introduced him, in a showing of solidarity with protestors around the world who are taking a stand against racial injustice, inequality, and police brutality. Clark went on to win by decision to improve his record to 12-4.
