When you start to discuss where Carson Wentz ranks among his peers at the quarterback position, he’s usually among the top-12 day in and day out.
Pro Football Focus loves to get in-depth with their grading system and during a recent ranking of signal-callers, they turned to the Bayesian Updating.
“Using Bayesian Updating as the basis of our analysis, which yields a career posterior mean and a posterior distribution (which describes the uncertainty) for each quarterback. This helps us to get better predictions compared to using just the data from last season.”
Ranking the player’s chances of being the best at his position in the NFL, Eagles star quarterback Carson Wentz landed just outside the top-10 at No. 13.
Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes was the No. 1 player on the chart with a 29.6% chance of being the best quarterback in the NFL. He was followed by Seattle’s Russell Wilson (10.6%) and New Orleans’ Drew Brees (7.5%).
