Drew Brees received a very public backlash for his comments regarding the national anthem protests, and Vikings defensive tackle Jaleel Johnson was one of the players who spoke up.
The Saints quarterback told Yahoo Finance he “will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country.”
Brees’ comments garnered backlash from LeBron James, Julius Peppers, Doug Baldwin, teammate Cam Jordan and plenty more.
Though Johnson called Brees a “legend,” he also called him “corny” and said he has no idea what’s going on.

Jordan, a Saints defensive end, said “I saw [a portion] of the clip; I immediately felt some type of way. I remembered back in [2017] we discussed it and took a knee before the flag and we showed that we were unified by the time the National Anthem started,” via Josina Anderson.
