Kevin Durant’s companies to make donations in honor of George Floyd

Kevin Durant’s Thirty Five Ventures and the Boardroom are calling for an end to systematic racism.

The companies that are all part of Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant’s portfolio — Thiry Five Ventures, The Boardroom and Kevin Durant Charity Foundation — released a statement in response to the death of George Floyd on Monday:

Black lives matter.

We are united in defense of black lives and black voices everywhere, and we join our peers and colleagues in the call for an end to the systemic racism in our country. We are making a donation to the NAACP and Center for Policing Equity in honor of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and all those who’ve lost their lives or suffered injustice at the hands of the police.

This statement’s from Durant’s businesses came shortly after Rich Kleiman, Durant’s business manager, released one on the matter, as well:

Even a start to some semblance of change is going to need sustained, consistent, and organized protest where the deep rooted anger can be on full display.

How do we break the system? How can 400 years of oppression be lifted in a week? It’ can’t! Look at the history books. We all need to stay protesting. ALL races must step up and support Black lives!

We need to stand up, not just on IG and Twitter, but through the right organizations, on city streets and through constant pressure on our government and on our police. We need to stand in front of the offices where the corrupt and the RACIST work, we need to demand justice and we can not stop!

We can’t ever lose sight of what’s right and what’s humane. The side of wrong is ignorant. We will only begin to break this system with our minds, and with our voices. Let’s keep this going all the way thru the election and all the way to the top of the Federal Government. Let’s change the history books!

Charge the other three officers!!
