As we continue to keep an eye on the Tennessee Titans’ AFC South rivals, here are some interesting headlines pertaining to the Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans.
Colts still see Philip Rivers as an elite quarterback (via Colts Wire)
Indianapolis head coach Frank Reich believes that quarterback Philip Rivers is still elite, and the team is definitely happy to have him aboard for the 2020 season.
Rivers certainly didn’t look elite with the Los Angeles Chargers last season, but the hope is that he can step his game up with a better supporting cast, particularly with an improved offensive line.
Texans have to keep receiver Kenny Stills as part of the passing game (via Texans Wire)
While there was some speculation about the Texans possibly trading wide receiver Kenny Stills during the offseason because he mirrors the talent the team has at the position, Mark Lane doesn’t think that’s a good idea.
Lane points to data presented by Pro Football Focus to show that Stills can be a valuable player in 2020, but he also rightly notes that the team’s other three receivers — Will Fuller, Randall Cobb and Brandin Cooks — have all dealt with injuries in recent years.
Fuller in particular has never played a full 16-game season, which only adds to the reasons why the Texans would be wise to hold on to Stills.
Which second-year Jag will have the best 2020 season? (via Jaguars Wire)
James Johnson breaks down which second-year Jaguars player he thinks will have the best 2020 season, and it seems to come down to either quarterback Gardner Minshew or EDGE Josh Allen, both logical choices.
And fans tend to agree, as Allen (36 percent) and Minshew (32 percent) were the top two vote-getters in the poll within the article.
