Helton has a college ready body at 6-foot-4, 250-pounds and has already fielded a multitude of Power 5 scholarship offers, although Tennessee is the first SEC school to join the list. Arizona State, Oregon, Michigan, Nebraska, Texas and USC highlight a Pac-12 and Big 10-filled list.
Helton is a 4-star recruit per 247Sports, though he does not yet hold a rating on the Composite. He is the No. 14 weak-side defensive end in the country, and No. 20 player in California for his class.
Tennessee does not yet have any commits in the 2022 recruiting class, and defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh is Helton’s primary recruiter.
