Oklahoma 2020 player card: No. 18 Austin Stogner

Sooners Wire will be creating player cards for readers to be introduced to the 2020 roster. Here is No. 18 Austin Stogner.

There is a ton of momentum to having a 2020 college football season these days. No definite signs, yet, but the season would start less than 100 days from now.

Sooners Wire will be creating player cards for readers to be introduced to the 2020 roster.

Here is the No. 18 for Oklahoma.

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

Name: Austin Stogner

Number: No. 18

Year: Sophomore

Position: H-Back

Hometown: Plano, Texas

Height/Weight: 6-foot-6, 251 pounds

Oklahoma has a deep h-back room with each of the four members bringing something different to the table.

Austin Stogner came to the Sooners as a four-star recruit by Rivals. He was the 136th best overall player, No. 11 overall tight end and the 36th best player out of the state of Texas in the 2019 recruiting class. Stogner chose Oklahoma early over offers from Alabama, Michigan and Texas A&M amongst many others.

He played in all 14 games as a freshman in 2019 in a special teams and backup role. Stogner caught seven passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns—both of which came during Oklahoma’s monumental comeback over Baylor on the road—in his freshman campaign.

In 2020, Stogner is sure to be used as a tight end despite that position group being combined with the fullbacks. He and expected starting quarterback Spencer Rattler have already played together during Nike’s The Opening Finals in the summer of 2018.
