Dan Graziano over at ESPN ranked how committed each team is to its quarterback for the 2020 season.
In no surprise, the Vikings ranked high on the list, coming in at No. 3 in their marriage with quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Cousins is signed through the 2023 season and just signed a two-year, $66 million extension this offseason.
While NFL fans seem to have a love-hate relationship with Cousins, you can’t ignore that he brought the Vikings to the playoffs last season and gave them a win over the Saints in the wild card round.
This also feels like the space to note the Vikings made the right move in signing Cousins rather than bringing back Case Keenum.
In two seasons with the Vikings, Cousins has thrown for 7,901 yards, 56 touchdowns and 16 interceptions, leading them to an 18-12-1 overall record.
It will be interesting to see how Cousins does in 2020 without Stefon Diggs and with the chance he’ll be in a few more shootouts with a new-look defense.
