One Bengals legend loves the addition of Vonn Bell in free agency

One Cincinnati Bengals legend loves the Vonn Bell signing.

Cincinnati Bengals personnel openly admitted signing free-agent safety Vonn Bell was a luxury move.

We added it was the perfect luxury move.

And it turns out one Bengals legend by the name of David Fulcher isn’t one to likely disagree with such an idea.

Fulcher appeared on the “Bengals Booth Podcast” with Dan Hoard and had a telling reaction when asked about the Bell addition:

“Oh yeah. You need an outcast. Somebody that doesn’t look like the norm. He’s coming from a winning organization… he’s a player, he’s a game-changer, he makes plays… His motor is on 10 and some of our other guys’ motor can only get up to 5. Maybe he’s going to bring that level of defense up…”

A fun bit there on the end was Fulcher merely saying Bell added “a little bit of flavor” which is just what Zac Taylor and Co. have been going for this offseason with the roster overhaul. All the new additions have seemed like winners and leaders — with some attitude.

Bell, all of 25 years old, has been uber-productive to this point in his career and takes some stress away from Shawn Williams — if not makes his seat a little hot come roster bubble time. Bell is a chess piece for coaches and one of those leader types the Bengals simply couldn’t refuse when they saw he was still available.

With a former Bengals great talking up Bell, the luxury addition isn’t exactly flying under the radar as an impact newcomer.
