D.J. Graham was a three-star athlete in the 2020 recruiting class. Ranked as the No. 13 athlete in his class, Graham was recruited by inside receivers coach Cale Gundy. The Sooners won the battle for Graham over LSU, Oklahoma State, and Arkansas among other schools.

Whether or not Oklahoma ever intended to have him play the offensive side of the ball, Graham is now a part of the Alex Grinch regime on the defensive side of the ball.

While in high school, Graham had over 2,000 yards receiving and 17 touchdowns at Keller Central High School.
