Brady could have been making reference to the Atlanta Falcons blowing a 28–3 lead in Super Bowl 51 midway through the third quarter.
After trailing by as many as 25 points (28–3) during the third quarter, New England defeated Atlanta Falcons, 34–28 in overtime.
The game is now famously referred to often as “28–3” after the Falcons’ blown lead. Things didn’t go so well for Brady and the Patriots the next season, as the Eagles shocked New England 41-33 in Super Bowl 52.
