As if A.J. Brown didn’t do enough impressive things during his rookie season, we can add one more to the list.

As if Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown didn’t accomplish enough in his rookie season, we can add one more impressive thing to the list.

According to NFL Research, Brown is the first rookie in the Super Bowl era to gain 1,000 yards and average 20 or more yards per reception.

Brown also broke the Titans’ record for most receiving yards and touchdown receptions by a rookie.

Brown was insanely efficient in 2019. Thanks to his 20.2 yards per reception, the second-best mark in the NFL, the second-round pick was able to finish with 1,051 yards and eight touchdown grabs on just 52 catches.

The most impressive thing about Brown is that he’s able to create yards on his own, thanks to his ability to bully cornerbacks and break tackles with his strength and physicality.

His 463 yards after the catch made up nearly half his receiving yards, and that mark was the sixth-best among all players at his position.

Brown probably should have done better than third in NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year voting and he was upset when the results came out, but it’s something that makes him hungrier, per Jim Wyatt of Titans Online.

“All the Offensive Rookie of the Year stuff, it is really behind me,” Brown said. “I didn’t win. Congratulations to Kyler, but I didn’t win, and I am moving on with it. I am not going to sit here and dwell on it.

“It definitely made me hungrier to achieve bigger goals, so that’s what I am going to do.”

Despite his incredible success, Brown isn’t letting it get to his head. He’s working as hard as ever this offseason, and that includes catching about 1,000 passes per day.

The biggest key to Brown’s second season will be how he can adjust to teams focusing more on stopping him. He won’t be flying under the radar by any stretch during his sophomore campaign.

Regardless, Brown’s nature as a physical runner with the ball in his hands ensures that he can make things happen against even the tightest of coverage.
