Sooners Wire will be creating player cards for readers to be introduced to the 2020 roster. Here is No. 4: Jaden Davis

There is a ton of momentum to having a 2020 college football season these days. No definite signs, yet, but the season would start three and a half months from now.

Sooners Wire will be creating player cards for readers to be introduced to the 2020 roster.

Here is the No. 4 on Oklahoma’s roster.

Name: Jaden Davis

Number: No. 4

Year: Sophomore

Position: Cornerback

Hometown: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Height/Weight: 5-foot-10, 182 pounds

One of the more promising young players that debuted in 2019 was now sophomore cornerback Jaden Davis. He was one the few recent recruits from the past defensive regime to earn the trust from Alex Grinch and cornerbacks coach Roy Manning.

The St. Thomas Aquinas product was listed as a four-star prospect by Rivals in the 2019 recruiting class. Davis was listed as the No. 24 overall corner and the No. 33 overall recruit in the state of Florida.

He was the second-straight recruit to sign with Oklahoma from the high school powerhouse in south Florida (Nik Bonitto). Davis picked the Sooners over Clemson, Florida and other offers from Clemson and Texas amongst others.

As a freshman in 2019, Davis played in all 14 games and made one start. He made 33 tackles, had one interception and one pass break-up. Davis will compete with Tre Norwood—who is returning from a season-ending injury in 2019—for the starting job vacated by Parnell Motley exhausting his college eligibility.
