There is a ton of momentum to having a 2020 college football season these days. No definite signs, yet, but the season would start three and a half months from now.
Sooners Wire will be creating player cards for readers to be introduced to the 2020 roster.
Here is the first No. 3 on Oklahoma’s roster.
Name: Mikey Henderson
Number: No. 3
Year: Freshman
Position: H-Back
Hometown: Dallas, Texas
Height/Weight: 6-foot-2, 245 pounds
Michael ‘Mikey’ Henderson was one of the earlier, but most underrated recruits Lincoln Riley landed in the 2020 recruiting class.
The Ranchview High School product was listed as three-star recruit by Rivals and the No. 83 overall recruit out of the state of Texas. Henderson picked Oklahoma over Texas, Georgia and a host of other offers that includes Alabama, Florida, Oregon and Texas A&M.
He enters a crowded H-Back room that includes veterans Brayden Willis, Jeremiah Hall and rising sophomore Austin Stogner. With Oklahoma lacking star power at running back and wide receiver to start 2020 due to injuries and suspensions, don’t be surprised to see Henderson get some meaningful snaps early in the season.
The freshman was an early enrollee prior to the coronavirus pandemic shutting down classes and spring football.
